 Established in 1877, the City of Marysville was named by early settlers for their former home of Marysville, California. You can a get a glimpse of pioneer life in the 1884 hand-hewn cedar home of the Gehl pioneer family which now sits in Jennings Park. The interior of the house has been furnished as a typical farmhouse of the 1880s with wood burning stove and rustic furniture. |

| Today, Marysville is a thriving community situated near the banks of the Snohomish River. It hosts a number of fun festivals, notably the Tulalip Pow-Wow and Strawberry Festival. Begun over 60 years ago as a one-day community celebration, the June Strawberry Festival has grown into a ten-day event drawing people from around the Puget Sound region. |

| Marysville is immediately adjacent to the Tulalip Indian Reservation. At Mission Beach you can view a longhouse, totem poles and canoe sheds used for tribal living and ceremonies. The Tulalip Tribes have recently developed Quil Ceda Village along the I-5 corridor. The Tulalip Casino is the new premier gaming destination in Snohomish County. This gaming mecca is also a showcase for Northwest art and Tulalip Indian culture. Rushing waterfalls, four fountains and numerous ponds greet visitors. One pond holds an Orca whale sculpture, another has a stunning, 20-foot tall stature of an Indian fisherman about to spear a leaping salmon. Open seven days a week. |
