Off Leash Area Edmonds at Marina Beach Park

Add To Itinerary

Edmonds' Off Leash Area is one of the few OLAs that provides a scenic and pleasant non-threatening place for dogs and their owners. Dogs are permitted to run free, swim, meet new friends and play.

A small group of volunteers founded the non-profit organization called Off Leash Area Edmonds in 2005; and in 2006, the IRS  determined that OLAE is exempt from Federal Income Tax under section 501(c)3 of the Code. Today, the dog park is maintained by volunteers.

It's easy to miss the entrance to the off-leash area, a lovely stretch of sand and logs on the south side of the old Unocal pier. Look for the Honey Buckets, and the short trail starts just to the left, next to a bulletin board posted with dogpark rules. The beach offers Olympic Mountain views, and the park expands greatly when the tide is out.. Garbage cans and Honey Buckets provided, and wheelchairs can maneuver the unpaved path to the upper beach area.

Bring your own poop bags and fresh water.

Directions: Take I-5N to the Edmonds Kingston Ferry exit (near the exit you take for the Mountlake Terrace Costco). Follow the ferry terminal signs all the way to the waterfront. When you get to the water and can see the Ferry gatehouse, take a left on Dayton. Follow the road through the marina past the various boat storage areas and the park is at the very end. The entrance to the offleash section will be right there on the left, Marina Beach Park,  Edmonds (south of the former Unocal pier).
