Cascade Loop

Add To Itinerary

The Cascade Loop is Washington’s ultimate road trip!  A 440-mile loop drive that begins and ends right here in Snohomish County.  Starting in Everett on the shores of Port Gardner Bay, Everett is home to the second largest marina on the west coast.  Everett boasts a vibrant music scene, and is rich with public art and family-friendly attractions including Imagine Children’s Museum and Angel of the Winds Arena hosting concerts, rodeos, Disney on Ice, and sporting events. Head east along Highway 2 to discover the Snohomish River Valley’s pastoral farmlands and abundant opportunities for rafting, fishing and other water sports. Historic downtown Snohomish offers a uniquely vintage vibe with antiques and collectibles, and boutique shopping as its calling card.  As you near the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, you’ll follow the Skykomish River up through the historic mining and logging towns of Sultan, Startup and Gold Bar; each rich in history, local charm and outdoor adventure from hiking to spectacular waterfalls, rock climbing on vertical granite cliffs or taking your 4x4 to the all-terrain vehicle course in Reiter Foothills.  Fishing, non-motorized boating and riding the whitewater rapids with your outfitter and guide make this part of the loop your outdoor adventure headquarters.

As the Cascade Loop wends its way along, you’ll find yourself back in Mukilteo from the ferry trip across Puget Sound.  Known for its inviting waterfront setting, the shops and restaurants beacon you.  Before you end your travels, the region’s most popular attractions include the Boeing Tour at the Future of Flight Aviation Center, and viewing vintage military aircraft and combat armor at the Flying Heritage Collection and Combat Armor Museum, Historic Flight and the Museum of Flight Restoration Center.
