Red Curtain Foundation announces auditions for the upcoming production, "M'aQ'betH," an unofficial Star Trek fan production adapted from William Shakespeare's "Macbeth" by -- and directed by -- Alex De Roest. The show will run weekends, July 27-August 12 at the Red Curtain Arts Center.
An honorable Klingon captain named M'aQ'betH receives a prophecy from three witches of Feklhr that one day he will become Emperor of Qo'nos. Consumed by ambition and spurred to action by his wife, M'aQ'betH betrays Emperor Kahless and takes the Klingon empire for himself. He is then wracked with guilt and paranoia. Forced to commit more and more dishonorable murders to protect himself from enmity and suspicion, he soon becomes a tyrannical ruler. The bloodbath and consequent civil war swiftly take the Alpha Quadrant into the realms of madness and death.
Auditions are by appointment, and will consist of a 2-minute Shakespearean monologue and readings from the script. To reserve a time slot, please submit your headshot and resume, along with preferred audition date/time, to firstname.lastname@example.org.
All roles are available, and Red Curtain supports color-conscious and gender-blind casting. There is no pay for actors.
