We will remember those that were lost and affected by the March 22, 2014, Oso landslide by bringing our communities together to ride the road that connects us. There are three ways to participate:
28 mile bike ride on State Route 530 from Arlington to Darrington. Ride begins at a Legion Park, 114 N. Olympic Ave. in Arlington.
The one-way, 28-mile ride starts in downtown Arlington at Legion Park and follows State Route 530 to Oso Loop Road and continues east on SR 530 to the celebration in Darrington. Registration includes: Return transportation, a rest stop at the Oso Store, long sleeve event shirt, bike mechanics / support vehicles on site, and a finish line event (food for-purchase, beverages, family activities). This ride is not recommended for children.
6 mile family ride on the Whitehorse Trail from Fortson Mill Trailhead to Darrington. Ride begins at the Fortson Mill Trailhead, 30518 Fortson Mill Rd. in Arlington.
The JoJo Trail Ride is a family friendly, free ride on the Whitehorse Trail, from Fortson Mill Trailhead to Darrington. The ride is 6 miles to Darrington, or 12 miles round trip. Return transportation can be arranged when you RSVP. Riders will get a preview of a section of the Whitehorse Trail, an unpaved trail that connects Arlington and Darrington. Includes: family friendly ride, return transportation, short sleeve t-shirt (limited number), bike mechanic on site, finish line event (food, beverages, family activities). This ride is family friendly and recommended for riders of all abilities.
Celebration of Strong Communities and the accomplishments made through the America's Best Communities program at the Darrington Community Center, 570 Sauk Ave., Darrington.
In Darrington, we will celebrate our resilience as we look toward the future and our shared goals for economic development, revitalization and preservation of our quality of life in our valley. Riders and their family / friends are invited to please join us after at the Community Center. Food for purchase, refreshments, family activities, a time of reflection, and a celebration of the accomplishments we have made together through the America's Best Communities Program.
